How to read the Bible Series

Introduction

The Bible is the most influential and life-changing book ever written. It is more than a collection of ancient writings—it is God’s Word, given to reveal His character, His plan for the world, and His invitation for us to know Him. Yet for many people, the Bible can feel overwhelming, confusing, or even intimidating. With its sixty-six books, written over centuries by different authors, in different styles, and across different cultures, it can be hard to know where to start or how to make sense of it all.

This series, How to Read the Bible, is designed to help us approach Scripture with confidence and clarity. In our first session, we’ll step back and take a wide-angle view: What is the Bible? How is it structured? And what is the big story it tells from beginning to end? By seeing the Bible as one unified story that points to Jesus, we’ll be better prepared to dive into the details and discover how each part fits into God’s grand narrative.

As the series unfolds, we’ll move from overview into practice—learning how to study specific passages, recognize different literary genres, and apply God’s Word to our lives. The goal is not simply to gain knowledge, but to grow in relationship with the God who speaks through Scripture, and to be transformed by His truth.
