Be Still and Know

🌿 Scripture

The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still. — Exodus 14:14 (NIV)
Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10 (NIV)

🕊 Devotional

Sometimes the hardest thing to do is nothing.
When the problem feels urgent, our instinct is to rush in, fix it, and take control.

But there are moments in life where God calls us to stop moving and simply trust.

Israel stood trapped—Red Sea in front, Pharaoh’s army behind. From a human perspective, there was no way forward. Yet God’s answer was not, “Run faster” or “Fight harder.” It was, “Be still.”

Stillness isn’t passivity. It’s active trust.
It’s believing God is working when you can’t see it.
It’s releasing the outcome into His hands, even when the timing feels too slow.

Psalm 46:10 adds the deeper truth behind our stillness: knowing He is God.
When we remember His power, His faithfulness, and His perfect timing, stillness becomes less about “doing nothing” and more about resting in Who He is.

So if today you feel cornered or overwhelmed, let these words settle deep:
The Lord will fight for you. Be still, and know that He is God.
You don’t have to fix this alone. Your job is to trust Him and watch Him make a way.

🙏 Prayer

Lord, You see the battles I cannot fight and the burdens I cannot carry. Calm my racing thoughts and steady my anxious heart. Help me to rest in the truth that You are God and that You are working on my behalf. I choose to be still, trust You, and wait for Your perfect timing. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
