Casting Your Cares on God

🌿 Scripture

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
— 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)

🕊 Devotional

Anxiety has a way of looping in your mind—thoughts spinning, heart racing, sleep slipping away. The more you try to “manage it,” the heavier it feels.

But God doesn’t ask you to carry it. He invites you to cast it. To take the bundle of worries and throw it onto Him—because He actually cares.

Not just about the situation. Not just about the outcome.
He cares about you.

This doesn’t mean the problem instantly disappears. But it does mean the weight shifts. The God who holds the stars is strong enough to hold your fears.

Each time anxiety rises, whisper it into His hands.
Each time fear knocks, hand it over again.
Not once and done, but a rhythm of surrender.

How do you “cast it?”

  • First, it isn’t talking about a one-time event, but an ongoing posture of the heart.

  • Casting care often starts with intentional prayer, you verbally surrender it, give it to the Lord.

  • Replacing Anxiety with Trust that the Lord can and will handle it.

  • You move forward with diligence while leaving the results to Him.

  • Sometimes “casting care” means sharing your burden with trusted believers who can pray with you

He doesn’t grow tired of your prayers. He doesn’t sigh at your weakness. He simply says, “I care for you.”

And in that care, your heart finds rest.

🙏 Prayer

Father, You know the worries I’m holding onto right now. They feel heavy, but I choose to give them to You. Thank You for caring about me, not just my circumstances. Fill me with Your peace as I trust You with what I cannot control. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
