God Is Still on the Throne

🌿 Scripture

“The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.”
— Psalm 2:4 (NIV)

🕊 Devotional

When we scroll the headlines or hear the news, it’s easy to feel unsettled. Wars, injustice, violence, anger — the world feels out of control. But Scripture reminds us: God is still on the throne.

Psalm 2 paints a picture of nations raging and rulers plotting against the Lord. Yet God’s response is not panic. It’s not fear. It’s laughter. Because He knows who holds ultimate authority.

This doesn’t mean He laughs at pain or suffering. His heart breaks for the brokenness of this world. But it does mean He is not shaken by the schemes of men or the chaos of the age. His plans are steady. His love is sure. His reign is unshakable.

So when you feel overwhelmed by what you see around you, lift your eyes higher. The One who sits enthroned in heaven is still King. He hasn’t surrendered control. And His love for you has not wavered.

Rest in that truth today: the world may shake, but your God never will.

🙏 Prayer

Lord, when the world feels dark and unstable, remind me that You are on the throne. Calm my fears with the truth that nothing surprises You and nothing is beyond Your control. Thank You for ruling in perfect power and perfect love. I choose to rest in Your sovereignty today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
